On May 19 2022 at 9:00 a.m., Asst. Prof. Dr. Acharawan Topark-Ngarm, Assistant to the President for International Affairs, Khon Kaen University welcomed an international delegation visiting Khon Kaen University for a study visit to the Agricultural and Food Model Factory (Food Pilot Plant). The delegation consisted of Mr. Somsak Sakultham, Deputy Director of the Mass Communications Division, the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, Lao PDR, delegations from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Lao PDR, and representatives from the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the University of Health Sciences, the National University of Lao, the Lao National Bank, and the Association of Living People with HIV, Lao PDR.
The Agricultural and Food Model Factory is a service department for entrepreneurs, industries, enterprises, and other agencies both inside and outside Khon Kaen University, as well as a working partner with faculties, research centers, research groups and related government agencies in order to get the most benefit in production and take part in driving economic and industrial movements in the northeastern region.
On this occasion, the team also made a study visit to the KKU Battery Pilot Plant, Khon Kaen University at the Regional Science Park. It is a prototype factory of “Nano silicon” from rice husk and rice husk ash for use in prototype lithium-ion batteries that are compact and light, yet can store up to 12 times more energy than carbon. It can store more energy than any other form of rechargeable batteries and has a long lifespan. This is important for future developments in the industrial sector.
An observational study group from Lao PDR is visiting various departments of Khon Kaen University between 16 – 21 May 2022, such as Khon Kaen University’s radio station 103 MHz FM, the Innovation Hub KKU center, etc. This is a great opportunity to learn and share the work of Khon Kaen University to various departments both domestically and internationally.
