» KKU joins a meeting with representatives from Universitat Muhamadiyah Yogyakarta, Republic of Indonesia, to develop academic cooperation (900 Views)

On August 26, 2022, at Kalapruek meeting room 4, 2nd floor, Sirikunakorn building, at 14.30 hrs. KKU administrators led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati, Vice President for International Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Acharawan Topark-Ngarm, Assistant to the President for International Affairs and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kiatichai Faksri, Dean, KKU Graduate School, Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanapauge Chamaratana, Vice Dean for Administration, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Dr. Jutarop Phetcharaburanin, Associate Dean for Research and International Affairs, the Faculty of Medicine, Mrs. Wilawan Ungsunantawiwat, Acting Director of International Affairs Division, and Mr. Isara Suriyagul Na Ayudhaya, Head of International Affairs Section, joined a meeting to discuss with the delegation from Universitat Muhamadiyah Yogyakarta, the Republic of Indonesia, led by Dr. Fitri Arofiati, Director of Cooperation and International Affairs. The objective of the meeting was to discuss cooperation in academic exchange, student and staff exchange, including research and community service.    

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati, Vice President for International Affairs, delivered a welcome speech to the delegation from  Universitat Muhamadiyah Yogyakarta, Republic of Indonesia.

Khon Kaen University (KKU)  and  Universitat Muhamadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) have collaborated since 2013, especially in student exchange, staff, research, and international conferences. At present, Khon Kaen University has  61 agreements for academic cooperation (Memorandums of Understanding) with leading Indonesian institutes and 85 Indonesian students studying at KKU.

Dr. Fitri Arofiati, Director of Cooperation and International Affairs, said “It was very pleasing to visit  Khon Kaen University again as an alumnus of KKU. We want to thank the administrators, faculty members, and all related parties for their warm welcome. During this visit, I hope our two universities will develop academic cooperation, especially in the Faculty of Nursing, Pharmacy, Medicine, Public Health programs and other international courses.”

After the meeting, the UMY delegation visited the Faculty of Engineering, KKU library and exchanged knowledge, services, training courses and facilities.
