» KKU supports IR staff potential - holds the workshop on diplomacy and diplomatic protocols" to raise IR staff knowledge and skills towards internationalization (827 Views)

On August 27, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Prachasamosorn Ballroom, 2nd floor, AVANI Khon Kaen Hotel & Convention Centre. Khon Kaen University International College (KKUIC), led by Asst. Prof. Sirimonbhorn Thipsingh, dean of KKUIC, in collaboration with International Affairs, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Acharawan Topark-Ngarm, assistant to the president for International Affairs, Mrs. Wilawan Ungsunantawiwat, Acting Director of International Affairs Division, and Mr. Isara Suriyagul Na Ayudhaya, Head of International Affairs Section, held a workshop project on "Diplomacy and Diplomatic Protocols"' to increase knowledge and develop skills in foreign affairs, diplomatic practice and protocols, international guidelines, and delegation visit, as well as universal etiquette in any occasions.

This event was honored by lecturers Mr. Surapon Petchvra, an honorary member of the university council, former Thai ambassador to Santiago, Republic of Chile, and Mr. Preecha Kaensa, former consul-general of Thailand in Kolkata, Republic of India, who participated in a lecture on the topic "Diplomacy and Diplomatic Protocols." In addition, the speakers also transferred knowledge on other useful topics, such as seating arrangement for various occasions, decoration of the national flag and foreign flags on special occasions, Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony, attendance etiquette at official events, and international etiquette.

Asst. Prof. Sirimonbhorn Thipsingh , dean of KKUIC, delivered a welcome speech.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Acharawan Topark-Ngarm, assistant to the president for International Affairs, revealed that this event was very beneficial for international relation staff, especially International Affairs, which has the main mission of internationalization and developing the skills and knowledge of IR staff to understand the principles of diplomatic protocols, which is a key factor in pushing the university towards internationalization and building good relationships with other nations in the future.

More than 77 faculty members working in international affairs and networks joined the event.
