"Khon Kaen University continues to strengthen its international partnerships with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and joint research initiatives with universities in Scotland and England."
On 11-18 January 2023,KKU led by Asst. Prof. Acharawan Topark-Ngarm, Assistant to the President for International Affairs together with Asst. Prof. Sirimonbhorn Thipsingh, Dean of Khon Kaen University International College and Asst. Prof. Phaninee Naruetharadol, Director of the Center for Sustainable Innovation and Society Project, Khon Kaen University International College, joined the representative team from Khon Kaen University to visit the University of the West of Scotland, Scotland, and the University of York, England, to discuss on collaboration initiatives creating academic excellence to provide educational opportunities and shared value for a society.
Khon Kaen University has negotiated the signing of a cooperative agreement with the University of the West of Scotland to expand the in-depth cooperation. Previously, KKU used to carry out academic activities through conducting research under the European Union’s Erasmus programme together with the Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy. Therefore, this meeting aims to build on the previous activities. For this regard, KKUIC will begin with inviting speakers to give some lectures and have further online discussions.
In the part of KKUIC, this is the first meeting with the University of the West of Scotland. Thus, the Dean of KKUIC has presented International Master of Science programs in Biodiversity and Environmental Management and International Technology and Innovation Management. They were well received and got a very good impact.
Additionally, KKUIC had a productive meeting with the University of York’s Faculty of Business and Society, where both parties discovered their similarities and expressed excitement for potential joint research collaborations.
