On February 7, 2023, at 11:00 am., at Saisuree Chutikul Conference Room, Faculty of Education. Khon Kaen University collaborated with the Embassy of Japan in Bangkok to organize "The 22nd Japan Education Fair in Khon Kaen," an exhibition for higher education in Japan for introducing and giving advice on further education in Japanese universities and academic institutions operated by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO). This exhibition aimed to prepare students and those interested in studying in Japan, in supporting the exchange of academic research between students, staff, researchers, faculties, and educational institutions, and to give a chance for scholarship application for further studying in Japan. This exhibition was honored by Asst. Prof. Dr. Parama Kwangmuang, Assistant Dean for Research, Faculty of Education, reported the event's objectives, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati, Vice President for International Affairs, delivered a welcome speech. Mr. UCHIDA Takeshi, First Secretary, Embassy of Japan, delivered an opening speech with Khon Kaen University administrators from the Faculty of Education, Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, and Demonstration School of Khon Kaen University, and representatives from the Embassy of Japan in Thailand. In addition, at the event, there were representatives from leading Japanese universities providing educational guidance to the northeast high school network, including Kyoto University, Nagayo University, Fukui University of Technology, Tokai University, and Kanazawa University, as well as sharing study life experiences from alums. More than 500 participants attended this event.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Parama Kwangmuang, Assistant Dean for Research, Faculty of Education, said, "The 22nd Japan Education Fair aims to give advice for scholarship applications from the Japanese Government, guide further education in leading Japanese universities, and share study life experiences from alumni. This is the 22nd time the event has been held as part of the cooperation between the two countries. We are pleased to hold this exhibition for guidance in higher education and support other future activities under the cooperation between Thailand and Japan."
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati, Vice President for International Affairs, also said, "This guidance activity for further education in Japan can be regarded as our success in operation, and we are honored that we have been working with the Embassy of Japan, Bangkok, for over 20 years. This connection between Thai and Japanese universities motivates the Japanese higher education system provided to students and educational personnel in Thailand."
Mr. UCHIDA Takeshi, First Secretary, Embassy of Japan in Thailand, mentioned, "Japan gives priority to strengthening good relationships with other countries, with the expectation that this event will increase awareness and interest in Japan, and the fascination with further education in Japan. Students will be concerned with education and learning about different cultures. Japan is a country of purity and security. Students can do part-time jobs while studying, build their awareness of culture and learn about working systems, which they cannot gain from common travel. Further education in Japan will benefit future careers. So, Japanese universities require many international students, and all students are invited to further study in Japan if they have a chance."
Previously, at 09:40 am., at the 1507 meeting room, 5th floor, Faculty of Education, the administrators of Khon Kaen University led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati, Vice President for International Affairs and Asst. Prof. Dr. Parama Kwangmuang, Assistant Dean for Research, Faculty of Education, teaching staff from the Faculty of Education and Demonstration School of Khon Kaen University, international division, and Japanese Alumni Club of KKU welcomed and consulted with the representatives from the Embassy of Japan in Thailand, led by Mr. UCHIDA Takeshi, First Secretary, Embassy of Japan. In the meeting, the delegates from leading Japanese universities and the Japanese Alumni Club also discussed the exchange of students, teaching staff, research, and courses.
