On February 28, 2023, at the special reception room, 6th floor, Sirikunakorn Building, H.E. Ms. Angela Jane Macdonald, Australian Ambassador to Thailand, and the representatives from the Australian Embassy in Thailand, met the administrators of Khon Kaen University, led by Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati, Vice President for International Affairs, delivered a welcome speech along with Asst. Prof. Sirimonbhorn Thipsingh, dean of International College, and Mr. Benoit Nadeau, Assistant dean for special affairs and international collaboration, International College, jointly welcomed. This was the first time the ambassador visited Khon Kaen University, and there was a discussion on academic cooperation, research cooperation, student and staff mobility, and other collaboration in the future.
Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati, Vice President for International Affairs, said that on behalf of Khon Kaen University, we were extremely willing to support the cooperation with the Australian Embassy and Australian universities. KKU has signed Memorandums of Understanding with more than 10 leading Australian universities and has 83 collaborative activities, 16 students who attended cultural exchange programs, and 97 graduates from Australian universities. These achievements showed effectiveness in various fields of collaboration.
H.E. Ms. Angela Jane Macdonald, Australian Ambassador to Thailand, also said, "The representatives of the Australian Embassy in Thailand and I are so happy and honored to visit KKU, and this is my first time here. I would like to thank the administrators for the warm welcome. Australia has many leading academic institutions that are ranked in the top world university rankings and has experts in various areas. So, we are happy to welcome students and staff to Australia for further education and knowledge exchange. And today is a great opportunity to develop other areas of cooperation in the future."
