On March 14, 2023, at the special reception room, 6th floor, Sirikunakorn Building, Khon Kaen University, led by Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University, together with Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati, Vice President for International Affairs, Asst. Prof. Acharawan Topark-Ngarm, Assistant to the President for International Affairs and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ratchaphon Suntivarakorn, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, jointly welcomed the administrators from Southwest Jiaotong University, the People's Republic of China, for a discussion on the High-Speed Train course.
After that, at the Kalaphruek 4 meeting, 2nd floor, Sirikunakorn Building Representatives from Khon Kaen University led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati, Vice President for International Affairs. Asst. Prof. Dr. Atcharawan Topakangam, Assistant to the President for International Affairs, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ratchapol Santiwarakorn, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; and faculty members from the Faculty of Engineering Attended a meeting with Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU), the People's Republic of China to discuss high speed train cooperation and the establishment of the KKU-SWJTU Tianyou Railway Institute center, and joint action plans between the two universities.
In the meeting, both universities discussed signing an additional memorandum of agreement (MOA) after signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in October 2021, as well as the opening ceremony of the KKU-SWJTU Tianyou Railway Institute at the Faculty of Engineering, Khon Kaen University, which is expected to be organized this year. This institute will support the training and learning of innovation, modern technology, and engineering skills involved in trains, especially high-speed trains.
Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU), the People's Republic of China, is an academic institution famous for its High-Speed Train course and other studies on engineering and transformation, and it also is a globally leading university.
