» KKU holds the Cultural Trip 2023 for foreign students to enhance multi- cultural learning (761 Views)

The International Affairs Division, Khon Kaen University (IAD, KKU) organized a tree-day camp from 24 –26 March 2023 (Cultural Trip 2023) with overnight stay in Nong Khai province and the rural village of Aom Kor sub-district, Dong Dara district in Udon-Thani province, for international students at Khon Kaen University both undergraduate and graduate to get more closely acquainted with Thai Student from Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University Nongkhai Campus and Thai culture. A total of 35 international students from 8 countries: Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Nepal, Italy, and Kiribati participated in the program.


The Cultural Trip 2023 project provided international students the opportunity to build strengthen good relationships between international students and Thai student from Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University Nongkhai Campus and participate in cultural exchange activities, experience life in a local community.

On 24 March 2023, we visited to Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University Nongkhai Campus and had leant and share on topic “Life and experience at University” and also built relationships between international student and thai student by sport game competitions which participants were very impressed and they hope to have a chance to join in the Culture Trip Program again next year.

On 25 -26 March 2023, IAD organized activities to enhance Thai culture under the theme "Local culture: Spirit Way of life" at Aom Kor sub-district,Dong Dara District, Udon-Thani Province which was aimed at opening a chance for foreign students to participate in the multi-cultural exchanges their knowledge of community lifestyle through lectures and demonstrations of weaving and weaving mats with local equipment, buffalo bathing, demonstration making flag in north-east style (Tung) and ox cart riding around the homestay.


The activities made a great impression on the students and their peers and were very helpful in opening up a variety of cultural experiences. The activities also were a good opportunity to exchange views on life and study and build good friendships with each other. At the end, the students thanked the International Affairs Division, KKU, and the organizers for arranging all the enjoyable and useful activities and expressed the hope that another Cultural Trip would be organized soon.
