On March 30, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. in the Meeting room, Confucius Institute, Khon Kaen University. Khon Kaen University administrators led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Acharawan Topark-Ngarm, Assistant to the President for International Affairs, Mrs. Wilawan Ungsunantawiwat, Acting Director of the International Affairs Division, and Asst. Prof. Dr.Uthaiwan Danwiwat, Director of the Confucius Institute (Thai side), and Professor Zhang Jiazheng, Director of the Confucius Institute (Chinese side), welcomed Ms. Feng Junying, Minister Counselor for the Education, the Embassy of the People's Republic of China of the Kingdom of Thailand on the occasion of paying a courtesy call on the executives of Khon Kaen University and to strengthen good relations between both institutes.

During the meeting, the Minister spoke about long-standing cooperation and thanked Khon Kaen University for continued support and collaboration in academic and research fields. 

Today, we had the opportunity to attend an educational seminar on the Chinese language, which is a cooperation of the Confucius Institute of Khon Kaen University and Mahasarakham University. We plan to develop new ways of collaboration with this platform.

In addition, if there is an opportunity to visit next time, the Minister will invite the Chinese Ambassador to be the head of the delegation for an official visit to Khon Kaen University. If Khon Kaen University needs any advice, the embassy is pleased to help provide information or other assistance to the university.

The assistant to the President said she was delighted to welcome the Minister on the occasion of visiting Khon Kaen University. Currently, Khon Kaen University has a large number of students from China. The university, therefore, attaches importance to developing cooperation with China. And soon, KKU will travel to China to set up a center for coordinating information and continuing education as a channel for accessing information and applying for further studies.

Khon Kaen University has been Cooperating with the Embassy and educational institutions in the People's Republic of China for a long time in various fields and disciplines, such as student and staff exchanges, preparation of Dual Degree courses, High-Speed ​​Train courses, etc., in addition, the establishment of the Confucius Institute at Khon Kaen University is the central unit in connecting Thai-Chinese relations, including teaching Chinese language and culture. It is also a model institute and winner of the world-class "Model Confucius Institute" award in 2018.
