     On Monday, May 29, 2023, International Affairs Division organized the Mekong Lancang 2023 workshop. It was honored by the Vice President for International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati to deliver the opening ceremony. This workshop was also led by Prof. Dr. Banchob Sripa, Senior Researcher Scholar from the Faculty of Medicine, and Assoc Prof. Dr. Supatra Chadbunchachai, Senior Researcher from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, to share experiences with best practices as they were the recipient of the Mekong Lancang Fund in 2019.
     International Affairs Division held this workshop to be a part of driving Khon Kaen University’s goal to reach the Global Frontier Research University and increase the score of World University Ranking. The Mekong Lancang Cooperation Special Fund focuses on pragmatic cooperation with high efficiency, mainly improving the well-being of the people in the Mekong sub-region and promoting the sustainable development of country members. There are six countries, namely China, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, and Viet Nam. The special fund supports about 300 Mio USD, covering various health science, technology science, and humanities and science activities. It would be challenging for KKU researchers and academic staff to gain this promising Mekong Lancang grants. 
     All and all, this activity is quite successful as many participants are interested, and some are willing to develop proposals to submit for the coming application call in 2023.
