On June 8, 2023, at 02:30 p.m., at the special reception room, 6th floor, Sirikunakorn Building, Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University; Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati, Vice President for International Affairs; Asst. Prof. Acharawan Topark-Ngarm, Assistant to the President for International Affairs, and Mrs. Wilawan Ungsunantawiwat, Acting Director of International Affairs Division, welcomed Mr. Stefan Karsten Krohn, chairperson of Krohn-Stiftung, and Mr. John Paul Karsten Rhensius, a committee of foundation, Germany on the occasion of visiting KKU administrators to strengthen the relationship between the institutions and discussed academic collaboration.
After that, Mr. Stefan Karsten Krohn, chairperson of Krohn-Stiftung, met the scholarship recipients of 2022. There were 30 scholarships this year. Now, it is in the qualified selected process for 2023. All students delivered a thank you speech to the chairperson, and they will gain the knowledge to develop themselves and society in the future.
Krohn-Stiftung is a foundation that has been sponsoring undergraduates of Khon Kaen University since the fiscal year 2008. Previously, the foundation was known as Wolfgang Krohn Foundation, but in 2019, the foundation's name changed to Krohn-Stiftung. The foundation annually provides a total scholarship of 30. Earlier, the foundation awarded a ₿15,000 scholarship for each student. Still, after 2022, they have awarded a ₿25,000 scholarship covering the whole period of the student's education provided that the students have a cumulative GPA of 2.00 or higher.
Having been aware of the importance of education, Krohn-Stiftung has always supported student scholarships to assist students living in poverty with their expenses so that they can pay attention mainly to their studies. The scholarship supports not only the students but also human resource development.
