On Friday, December 8, 2023, Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati, Vice President for the International Affairs Division, along with representatives from the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Humanities and Social Science, Faculty of Engineering, and International College, welcomed Mr. Yang Shuzhe, Board Member and President, along with administrators from Guilin University, China, to a meeting to discuss academic collaboration under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Khon Kaen University and Guilin University. The MOU covers development work in research, education, academic services, and student exchange.
Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati, Vice President for the International Affairs Division, stated that Khon Kaen University has academic collaborations with many universities in China. At this time, KKU is delighted to engage in discussions with Guilin University to strengthen academic cooperation between the two institutions in the future.
Mr. Yang Shuzhe, Board Member and President of Guilin University, expressed, "On behalf of Guilin University, China, I would like to thank the delegations from Khon Kaen University for the warm welcome. This is our first visit, and it is a great opportunity to start discussions about academic collaboration with a leading global university like KKU. We sincerely hope that GLU and KKU will exchange academic knowledge and cooperate in the exchange of personnel, professors, and students in the future."
Guilin University (GLU) has been established for 23 years since 2001. Formerly known as 'Lijiang University' until three years ago, following Chinese government policy, Lijiang University was changed to 'Guilin University.' GLU currently has 14,000 students with around 700 staff and teachers, offering bachelor's degree programs in more than 50 fields.
