On May 20-21, 2024, Professor Michael Siminovitch, the Arthur H. Rosenfeld Endowed Chair in Energy Efficiency, Faculty Director of the California Lighting Technology Center at UC Davis, Faculty Director at the Centro de Tecnología de Iluminación, UAG Jalisco, Mexico, Associate Director at the Energy Efficiency Center, and Professor in the Design Department at UC Davis, United States of America, visited Khon Kaen University to discuss academic and research cooperation, welcomed by President Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, and Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati, Vice President for International Affairs. The delegate visited the Faculty of Engineering, Medicine, Architecture, and KKU Academy. In addition, Professor Siminovitch was the speaker of discussions on “Sustainable Design & Infrastructure” at the Faculty of Architecture and “Circadian Design/Stress Mitigation for Healthcare Environments” at the Faculty of Medicine. These discussions addressed the importance of proper lighting to reduce stress and save energy by integrating many fields of science, including engineering, architecture, and medicine. This visit highlighted the potential to strengthen the relationship and continue cooperation between Khon Kaen University (KKU) and the University of California, Davis (UC Davis).
