On July 2, 2024, at the special reception room on the 6th floor of the Sirikunakorn Building, H.E. Dr. Angela Jane Macdonald, Australian Ambassador to Thailand, and representatives from the Australian Embassy met with administrators from Khon Kaen University. The university's delegation was led by Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University, along with Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati, Vice President for International Affairs, and Asst. Prof. Acharawan Topark-Ngarm, Assistant to the President for International Affairs.
The meeting included discussions on academic cooperation, research collaboration, economic and social cooperation, and other potential future collaborations.
Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University, highlighted the strong academic ties between Khon Kaen University and Australian institutions. He noted that over 80 academic staff members have graduated from leading Australian universities. The collaboration spans various fields, particularly in medical studies, with the KKU International Phenome Center (KKUIPC) being a prime example. This center collaborates with Murdoch University and supports advanced medical studies and training nationally and internationally.

Additionally, H.E. Dr. Angela Jane Macdonald delivered an honorary lecture on "Thailand-Australia Bilateral Relations and Australia's Role in the Region" at Khon Kaen University International College (KKUIC), The administrators of Khon Kaen University College (KKUIC) and College of Local Administration (COLA, KKU) were welcome the delegations led by Asst. Prof. Sirimonbhorn Thipsingh, Dean, Khon Kaen University International College (KKUIC), and Asst.Prof.Dr. Sirisak Laochankham, Dean, College of Local Administration (COLA, KKU). They were over 100 participants attended.
