» Japanese Embassy and KKU Co-Host the 24th Japan Education Fair, Strengthening Thai-Japanese Educational Opportunities (66 Views)

 

March 7, 2025 – Khon Kaen University (KKU) hosted the "24th Japan Education Fair in Khon Kaen", a study-abroad guidance event for students interested in pursuing education in Japan. The event occurred at Saisuree Jutikul Conference Room, Faculty of Education, KKU, and was organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Japan in Thailand, the Northeast Japan Alumni Association, and KKU's Faculty of Education.

Ms. KAWAMURA Maki, Counselor and Director of the Japan Information Service at the Embassy of Japan in Thailand, presided over the opening ceremony. Asst. Prof. Dr. Atcharawan Topark-ngarm, Assistant to the President for International Affairs, delivered the welcome address to all participants. Also present were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Isra Kanchak, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sarawut Jakpeng, Associate Dean for Demonstration Schools and Educational Innovation Development, and university executives and faculty administrators. The event also welcomed representatives from Japanese universities and Thai students eager to explore study opportunities in Japan.

During her address, Ms. KAWAMURA Maki expressed her gratitude for the warm reception and emphasized the growing interest of Thai students in learning the Japanese language.

"On behalf of the Embassy of Japan, I am delighted to see Thai students showing enthusiasm for the Japanese language," said Ms. KAWAMURA. "This fair brings together representatives from Japanese universities and educational organizations to provide valuable insights. I encourage all attendees to use this opportunity to gather essential information for their future studies."

She also highlighted career prospects for students proficient in Japanese, noting that over 6,000 Japanese companies have invested in Thailand and that more than 72,000 Japanese residents live in the country. These factors present significant employment opportunities for Thai students with Japanese language skills.

 

A Gateway to Studying in Japan

The Japan Education Fair provided excellent opportunities for students interested in studying in Japan. The event featured:

  • Booths from leading Japanese universities offering academic counseling
  • Special lectures on scholarships, education systems, and student life in Japan
  • Discussions on cultural exchange and career prospects for students pursuing Japanese studies

Beyond fostering educational cooperation, the event strengthened Thai-Japanese cultural ties and promoted human resource development to meet future labor market demands. It also inspired students to deepen their understanding of Japanese language and culture, encouraging them to pursue international opportunities. The fair is expected to create a sustainable academic and professional network between Thailand and Japan.
