On 21 April 2025, the Khon Kaen University delegation led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Acharawan Topark-ngarm, the vice president for International Affairs, along with professors and administrators from various faculties such as the Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Nursing, College of Computing, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, and KKU Academy, paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Kajtiti Wiwatwanont, the consul-general at Guangzhou, People's Republic of China, to discuss an efficient strategy for Chinese student recruitment to Khon Kaen University. At that time, the deputy consul general and officer at the consulate general were also in attendance. Both sides exchanged strategic views on promotional strategies, building trust in the quality of education, and providing information to students and parents. This procedure aims to create opportunities for Chinese students, strengthen the university's international atmosphere, and elevate the Isan region's international potential to the global level.During the meeting, the Khon Kaen University delegation presented the latest procedures in academic program promotion and built networks with Chinese institutions. This discussion included promoting the 30th China International Education Exhibition Tour (CIEET 2025) on 20 April in Guangzhou and exchanging opinions on the trends in demand for Chinese students to study in Thailand.

The consul general offered helpful advice on utilizing technology as a communication tool with the target group, pushing innovative technology education, and using the medical hub as a strength in developing international partnerships. He also advised us to use marketing proactively to promote the university's image and unique strengths, namely guidance activity through online platforms such as WeChat, using alumni as mouthpieces, and creating partnerships directly with high schools and universities in Chinese regions.

This meeting is an essential milestone in developing a strategy for accepting Khon Kaen University international students, especially for China, one of the main target groups under the expanding international education market policy.
