On February 28, 2025, Khon Kaen University (KKU), led by Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati , Vice President for International Affairs, Professor Dr. Pewpan Maleewong, Vice President for Research, Asst. Prof. Acharawan Topark-Ngarm, Assistant to the President for International Affairs, together with Mr. Benoit Nadeau, Assistant to the Dean of KKU International College, Associate Professor Dr. Chawit Ketkaew Program, Director of M.Sc. International Technology and Innovation Management, International College, Dr. Chanerin Falap, Faculty of Agriculture, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, Faculty of Agriculture, and representatives from the Research Administration Division, warmly welcomed Professor Bob Doherty, Dean of the School for Business and Society, University of York, United Kingdom.
During the meeting, the two institutions discussed potential areas for academic collaboration, including joint research initiatives and research funding support for faculty and researchers. Both universities expressed mutual interest in several academic disciplines, particularly food, health and medical sciences, and technology for sustainable development.
On this occasion, Professor Bob Doherty also delivered a special lecture and conducted a workshop on "Securing Grants for Sustainability: Strategies and Best Practices" for KKU faculty members and researchers. The session focused on strategies and best practices for securing international research funding, particularly in the field of sustainability, and was met with great interest and active participation.
This meeting marks a significant step towards expanding Khon Kaen University's international academic collaboration network and providing valuable opportunities for students and faculty members to enhance their global competencies.
