On June 20, 2025, Khon Kaen University (KKU) , led by Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, President of KKU, together with Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati, Vice President for International Affairs, Asst. Prof. Acharawan Topark-Ngarm, Assistant to the President for International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Chiranuch Sa-Ngiamsak, Assistant to the President for Research and Innovation, and Assoc. Prof. Ratchaphon Santivorakorn, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, along with faculty representatives from the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Science, and the Director of the International Affairs Division, welcomed the delegations in the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Khon Kaen University and Lunghwa University of Science and Technology (LHU), Taiwan. LHU was represented by Prof. Ru-Jen Lin, Ph.D., Vice President of LHU, and Mr. Chung-Lin Huang, Dean of Office of International Affairs. The signing was held at Sirikunakorn Room 5, 6th Floor, Sirikunakorn Building, Khon Kaen University.
Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, President of KKU, said, "Khon Kaen University is delighted to initiate this educational collaboration with LHU. The MoU marks a significant step toward developing student exchange programs, curriculum development, and internship opportunities, all of which will enhance students' academic and professional experiences."
Prof. Ru-Jen Lin remarked, "On behalf of LHU, I am honored to meet with the KKU executives and sincerely thank you for the warm welcome. LHU specializes in applied science, technology, and innovation, and we look forward to building collaborative educational, research, and innovation activities with Khon Kaen University."
This collaboration aims to strengthen academic networks, facilitate student exchange, establish dual degree programs, and provide internship training. Following the signing, Assoc. Prof. Chiranuch Sa-Ngiamsak, Assistant to the President for Research and Innovation, KKU, and Associate Professor Dr. Chung-Lin Huang, Dean, The Office of International and Cross-Strait Cooperation, LHU, jointly presented the strategic direction of the collaboration and discussed opportunities such as joint curriculum development, dual degree programs, student exchanges in science and engineering, and cooperation in the field of semiconductors. They also introduced a joint academic model, "3+1+2," in which engineering students from KKU, after completing their bachelor's degree, will have the opportunity to intern at private companies in Taiwan under LHU's supervision for one year before continuing their master's studies at LHU.
This collaboration represents a significant milestone in enhancing KKU's international education efforts and lays the foundation for long-term cooperation in semiconductor engineering.
