On September 1, 2025, Khon Kaen University (KKU), led by Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati, Vice President for International Affairs, together with representatives from the Faculty of Science, welcomed a delegation from National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) in Taiwan. The delegation was led by Professor Ming-Hsuan Lee, Vice President for International Affairs, for a meeting to discuss the promotion of academic collaboration. The meeting took place at the Sarasin 2 Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, Sirikunakorn Building, Khon Kaen University. The objective of the discussion was to develop a new form of academic collaboration, particularly through the INTENSE Program (International Industrial Talents Education Special Program): a strategic policy initiative supported by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education. This program aims to integrate resources from government, industry, and higher education institutions to enhance the recruitment of talented international students in key industrial sectors.
Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati, Vice President for International Affairs, stated that “This signing ceremony marks another significant step in strengthening academic relations between Khon Kaen University and NSYSU. Three key faculties : the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, and the Faculty of Science, are serving as core partners in driving this collaboration forward. In particular, the Faculty of Science is now beginning its first formal cooperation with NSYSU, having sent a delegation earlier this year to visit the College of Science at NSYSU. This visit laid the foundation for future student exchange programs, internships, and academic cooperation.”
Professor Ming-Hsuan Lee, Vice President for International Affairs, stated that “I would like to sincerely thank Khon Kaen University for the warm and generous welcome. It has been a pleasure to meet with the administrators and faculty members, and to see our shared commitment to academic collaboration".
We are hopeful that the INTENSE Program and the upcoming MOA will soon take shape and bring valuable opportunities to students from both institutions, while strengthening our partnership and friendship.”
