» KKU Welcomes Delegation from National Pingtung University (40 Views)

On November 5, 2025, Khon Kaen University (KKU), led by Assistant Professor Acharawan Topark-Ngarm, Assistant to the President for International Affairs, together with Assistant Professor Dr. Angkana Boonyued, Dean of the Faculty of Science, and representatives from the Faculty of Science, welcomed a delegation from National Pingtung University in Taiwan. The delegation was led by Professor Dr. Kelvin H.C. Chen, Dean of the Office of International Affairs, together with Prof. Dr. Yao-Sheng Liao, Dean of Department of Commerce Automation & Management, and Assoc. Prof. Jong-Chin Huang, Dean of Office of Student Affairs, for a meeting to discuss the promotion of academic collaboration. The meeting took place in Vidyavibhasa Room 2 on the second floor of the Vidyavibhasa Building, Faculty of Science, Khon Kaen University.

The objective of the discussion was to develop new forms of academic collaboration, particularly through the INTENSE Program (International Industrial Talents Education Special Program), a strategic policy initiative supported by Taiwan's Ministry of Education. Additional areas of focus included student exchange programs and research collaboration opportunities.

During the morning session, the NPTU delegation visited the Faculty of Economics, where they met with Associate Professor Dr. Suthin Wianwiwat, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, and his executive team to explore potential partnership opportunities. A comprehensive faculty tour followed this.

The delegation then proceeded to the Faculty of Medicine, where they were received by Assistant Professor Supawan Laohasiriwong, MD, Assistant for International Relations and Corporate Communication. Representatives from the Department of Medical Illustration presented an overview of the medical illustration program, after which the visitors were given a tour of the department facilities.

Both institutions have established a fruitful partnership since 2023 through three key faculties, engaging in a variety of collaborative activities including student and staff exchanges, internships, and cooperative education initiatives. They expressed their commitment to further developing this meaningful relationship through expanded research collaboration, student exchange programs, and the promotion of dual degree programs.
