Ambassador and international delegations participated in Khon Kaen International Marathon 2026. The joining races were held over two days 10-11 January, 2026.
On 10 January 2026, Mr. Alexander K. Schlesier, Assistant to the Defence Attaché to Thailand and the Philippines, together with Mrs. Ute Schlesier, from German Embassy in Thailand, took part in the Fun Run 5.4 km category. On 11 January 2026, H.E. Mr. Dhan Bahadur Oli, Ambassador of Nepal to Thailand, accompanied by the delegation from Embassy of Nepal, Bangkok along with Mr. Stive ZEPI, Second Secretary (Chief of Administration and Finance), and the delegation from the French Embassy in Bangkok, participated in various race categories, including the Full Marathon (42.195 km), Half Marathon (21.1 km), and Mini Marathon (11.55 km).
H.E. Mr. Dhan Bahadur Oli expressed his appreciation, stating, “On behalf of Embassy of Nepal, Bangkok, I am truly honored and delighted to participate in this event. I was deeply impressed by the warm hospitality of the people of Khon Kaen, the beauty of the natural surroundings, the excellent support throughout the race, and the welcoming atmosphere of Khon Kaen University. I look forward to promoting academic cooperation between universities in Nepal and Khon Kaen University, and I would like to invite people from around the world to join future editions of the Khon Kaen International Marathon, a healthy and friendship-building event.”
Mr. Stive ZEPI, Second Secretary (Chief of Administration and Finance), also shared his impressions that “My delegation and I are very pleased to have joined the Khon Kaen International Marathon 2026 for the first time. We were impressed by the efficient organization and warm hospitality. I would also like to commend Khon Kaen University, the event organizer, for its strong commitment to participants' care, safety, and well-being. We look forward to encouraging more representatives from the Embassy of France to participate in future races.”
