On February 11, 2026, at 4:00 PM, Khon Kaen University (KKU) led by Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University, together with the KKU executives from International Affairs, as well as the Deans and representatives from the Faculties of Engineering, Business Administration and Accountancy, Nursing, Medicine, and Humanities and Social Sciences, warmly welcomed Professor Dr. Khokiat Kengskool, Director of International Programs for Southeast Asia, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, College of Engineering and Computing, Florida International University, and held a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony with Florida International University (FIU), USA. The ceremony took place at Sirikunakorn Room 5, Sirikunakorn Building, Khon Kaen University, Thailand.
During the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul stated: “It is a great pleasure to welcome Professor Dr. Khokiat Kengskool. Expanding academic collaboration with institutions in the United States is both vital and challenging in today’s global landscape. This MOU marks a significant milestone and serves as a strategic starting point for a long-term, fruitful partnership.”
Professor Dr. Khokiat Kengskool added: “On behalf of FIU, I am delighted to establish this official partnership with KKU. The key to our next steps is to identify the specific needs of each faculty—to 'make a list'—and establish clear 'contact points' that will lead to tangible and impactful outcomes.”
This collaboration represents a major step forward in enhancing educational and research excellence. Both KKU and FIU share a mutual commitment to advancing academic synergy in Engineering, Business and Tourism, Nursing, Medicine, and ASEAN Studies. Furthermore, the partnership aims to provide scholarship opportunities for doctoral studies at Florida International University, fostering the development of high-caliber academic personnel for the future.
