On 26 May 2026, the International Affairs Division, in collaboration with the Research and Innovation Division of Khon Kaen University, organized the “Mekong-Lancang Workshop: MLC Series 2026” at Sarasin Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, Sirikunakorn Building, Khon Kaen University. The workshop aimed to enhance the capabilities of faculty members and researchers in accessing international funding opportunities, while also supporting Khon Kaen University’s vision of becoming a Global and Frontier Research University. 

 

On this occasion, Prof. Pewpan Maleewong, Vice President for Research and Innovation, delivered the welcoming remarks.The workshop also featured two distinguished speakers: Professor Banchob Sripa, KKU Senior Research Scholar from the Faculty of Medicine and recipient of MLC grants in 2020, 2024, and 2025, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Watcharin Loilome, Director of the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute (CARI), recipient of the 2024 MLC grant. Both experts shared their valuable insights and experiences during the session. 
The workshop included lectures, experience-sharing sessions, and discussions on effective MLC grant management strategies. The Mekong-Lancang Workshop: MLC Series 2026 provided faculty members and researchers with essential knowledge, understanding, and practical skills for accessing international research funding opportunities, particularly in proposal writing and project management. In addition, the speakers highlighted techniques and strategies for developing competitive research proposals and emphasized the importance of creating projects that generate positive social impact. 
The event also reflected Khon Kaen University’s continued commitment to strengthening research excellence and promoting sustainable international research collaboration.
