» KKU Welcomes Korean Embassy and KOICA Representatives to Strengthen Development Cooperation (10 Views)

On 27 May 2026, Khon Kaen University (KKU) welcomed Mr. Nam Hyuk Kim, Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Thailand, together with representatives from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), on the occasion of their visit to discuss and monitor the performance of KOICA volunteers at the University. The visit also provided an opportunity to exchange views on future development cooperation and potential collaborative initiatives with the Mekong Institute.

On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati, Vice President for International Affairs, together with administrators and faculty members from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, warmly received the delegation and participated in the discussion meeting held at Sirikunakorn Building, Khon Kaen University.

The discussion focused on reviewing the contributions and achievements of KOICA volunteers working at Khon Kaen University, one of KOICA’s key partner institutions in Thailand. Both parties exchanged perspectives on current initiatives and explored opportunities to further expand cooperation with the Mekong Institute. The discussions emphasized the promotion and sustainable enhancement of Korean language education and Korean cultural learning at Khon Kaen University.

This visit marks another significant milestone in strengthening the longstanding relationship between Khon Kaen University and KOICA. It is expected to further advance academic collaboration, human resource development, and sustainable international partnerships in the years to come.
