» IRD arranges the workshop on “Effective Proposal Preparation for European Research Funding Programmes”. (1931 Views)

On September 7-8, 2017, the workshop on “Effective Proposal Preparation for European Research Funding Programmes” was opened by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ratchada Tangwongchai, Assistant to the President for Technology Transfer. Dr. Tangwongchai along with Ms. Netdao Chamroendararasmee, Director of International Relations Division, welcomed the guest speaker Dr. Jose Sepulveda, Director of Applied Research and Technology for Infocomm Centre (ARTIC), Singapore and Ms. Phawika Rueannoi, a representative of National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA). In the opening remarks Dr. Tangwongchai reiterated the importance of these workshops and believed that the experience that the participants will gain from this comprehensive and interactive two-day workshop will assist them with best applicable knowledge to prepare themselves and their departments to successfully submit European Grant applications in the near future.

This workshop was undertaken in collaboration between European Commission (EC), Thailand-European Union Policy Dialogues Support Facility (PDSF), EURAXESS ASEAN, National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) and the International Relations Division, Khon Kaen University. The objective of the workshop was to inspire the lecturers and young researchers to learn about all the aspects of effective proposal preparation and the skills needed to successfully communicate the content and potential impact of the research to the evaluators of the European Funding Agencies.  Moreover, it also would help our university proceed towards our vision to become a “World Class Research University”. A significant number of participants who attended the workshop were from Khon Kaen University and some from the regional universities.

Dr. Jose Sepulveda the guest speaker is a science and technology professional with extensive international experience focused on technology forecasting, innovation management, and technology productisation. He combines his Science background, with his training in Business and Intellectual Property to identify and address the needs of the market with technological solutions. During his career he has produced technological solutions for P&G, NXP, NEC, HP, Houston Children’s Museum, and a long list of SMEs. He has worked all over the world focusing on a wide range of projects including, Data Analysis, Virtual and Augmented Reality, Biomedical data analysis, Wearable Devices and the Internet of Things. He is now living in Singapore where he works on translational technology as Director of ARTIC.
