Assoc.Prof.Charnchai Panthongviriyakul,President together with Assoc.Prof.Dr.Nawarat Wara-aswapati Charoen, Acting Vice President for International Affairs,Assoc. Prof. Piansak Pakdee,Acting Vice President for Student Development and Nongkhai Campus,Prof.Dr.Laosri Sanoamuang,Dean of International College, Assoc. Prof.Rosawan Areemit,ActingAssistant to the President for International Affairs and Ms.Netdao Chamroendararasmee, Acting Director of International Affairs Division were welcomed H.E.Mr.Kiattikhun Chartprasert, Ambassador-Designate of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Lao PDR and delegates from Royal Thai Embassy, Vientiane, The Lao People's Democratic Republic of Lao, on the occasion of their courtesy visited Khon Kaen University to meet with KKU administrators, discuss the possibilities collaboration on project for promotion of economic potential, trade, investment and tourism of Thailand in the Lao People's Democratic Republic and strengthen their relationship. The discussion focused on future coordination in trade and investment promotion, particularly among Viantian – Khammouan –Savannakhet -Sekong–Ubon Ratchathani – Khon Kaen route.

In addition, the Ambassador-Designate and KKU administrators have also exchanged views on ways and means of cooperation in promoting activities that link the relationship between alumni from the Lao People's Democratic Republic who had studied in Thailand. In order to have interaction in various fields which more concrete. The Embassy also confirm to work together and support each other's activities,included the possibility of sharing database of students from Lao People's Democratic Republic in KKU to be useful in the future.
