On April 23, 2015, Asst. Prof. Dr. Teekayu Plangkoon Jorns, Assistant to the President for International Relations together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kulthida Tuamsuk, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Asst. Prof. Dr. Somkiat Srijaranai, the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kwankate Kanistanon, Associate Dean for Student Development, KKU International College, and the lecturers, staff, and students from the Department of French, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, warmly welcomed H.E. Thierry Viteau, the French Ambassador to Thailand and the delegates from the French Embassy including Mr. Pierre Colliot, Counselor for Cooperation and Culture and Mr. Supasit Piwtamai, Interpreter for Press Service on occasion of their visit to Khon Kaen University to give the plenary talk on the topic entitled, “Climate Change and COP21 or the Paris Climate 2015”to KKU lecturers, staff, and students at the Conference Room, 1st Floor, HS05 Building, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
In this regard, H.E. Thierry Viteau further discussed the topics of environmental degradation in light of the Paris Climate 2015, global warming, the rise of the sea levels, and the threat of environmental damage to biodiversity on the earth at present. H.E. Thierry Viteau emphasized that we should raise awareness of the importance of climate and environmental conservation and suggested ways to save energy such as oil and electricity which will be beneficial for the environment of Thailand in the future.
