Khon Kaen University received 2 research fundings. First, Mekong Liver Fluke Control Initiative. Second, Early Detection of Unsafe Food by Risk-Based Programme. For Mekong Liver Fluke Control Initiative is operated by the Faculty of Medicine, and it is a pilot project which controls 5 Mekong Liver Flukes diseases, including Cambodia, China, Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam. And for Early Detection of Unsafe Food by Risk-Based Programme is conducted by the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. This programme focuses on unsafe food screening and training by using risk-categorized methods. Moreover, this programme provides for staff of public health sections who comes from Cambodia, China, Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam, and other ASEAN countries. However, these two projects are lunched by Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund ,under the framework of Mekong-Lancang Cooperation ( MLC ) that aims to strengthen the relationships of 6 member countries, comprising of Cambodia, China, Thai, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam to support economic development and regional society, also create peace and prosperity. Besides, this funding will support the cooperation project (MLC) framework, including water resources, productivity enhancement, agriculture, human resources, and health.
On December 6, 2019, at Sattravichit Srisa-aan, 5th floor, Udomchai building 1, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, Sriayudhaya road. There was a signing memorandum of understanding ceremony under the cooperation of Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund between Assoc. Prof. Soranit Siltharm, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation and H.E. Lyu Jian, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in the Kingdom of Thailand. After that, there also was a memorandum of understanding (MOU) ceremony between Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation by Assoc. Prof. Soranit Siltharm, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation and Khon Kaen University by Assoc. Prof. Monchai Duangjinda, Vice President for Research and Academic Services
The objective of Memorandum of Agreement for Academic cooperation (MOA), under the cooperative framework of Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund is to determine the cooperation between Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Kingdom of Thailand, and Khon Kaen University to develop efficiency and concrete result.
