On September 1, 2020, International Affairs Division, Khon Kaen University, held a special lecture on diplomatic principles for international relations staff by Mr. Surapon Petchvra, an honorary member of the university council and a former Thai Ambassador to Chile who specialized in diplomacy for over 30 years. This occasion was honored by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati Charoen, Vice President for International Affairs who delivered an opening speech. Assistant Professor Dr. Acharawan Topark-ngarm, Assistant to the President for International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Peerasit Kamnuansin, Dean of the College of Local Administration (COLA), and KKU administrators, lecturers and international relations staff were pleased to attend this lecture both on site and through Facebook online via International Affairs Division KKU. Concepts raised in this lecture included the principles of diplomacy, English official letters, diplomatic skills and multi-diplomatic culture, including diplomatic substance (focusing on Soft Diplomacy and Education Diplomacy) in order to meet our organizational setting and the university’s strategies, and to develop the capacity of international affairs.
