On November 3, 2020, at 14.00 hrs., at Rattanapitaya Building, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Khon Kaen University, H.E. Mr. Lee Wook-heon, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Thailand, and his delegation from Korean Cultural Center Bangkok, Thailand, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Thailand, visited the administrators of Khon Kaen University, the administrators of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Khon Kaen University, and the students of Khon Kaen University on the occasion of the Korean Culture Caravan 2020 activity to promote Korean cultures to the students and to exchange Thai and Korean cultures. This event was honored by Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati Charoen, Vice President for International Affairs, who delivered a welcome speech. There were also cover dance shows by Brute and Onze, Korean food demonstrations, a Korean quiz contest, and Korean entertainment, etc.

Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati Charoen, Vice President for International Affairs, said it was a great honor to welcome the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Thailand and to host “Korean Culture Caravan 2020” at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Khon Kaen University. Nowadays, many Thai people are interested in Korean culture trends such as K-Pop and Korean food which has increased the students' interest in studying Korean language. In this regard, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, which is the center of languages and international cultures at KKU, provides Korean subjects, in which, every semester, over 300 students enroll. A Korean major is planned to be opened in 2022. Additionally, academic and research collaborations exist with leading Korean universities such as Hung-Ang University, EWHA Womans University, Far East University, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Hanyang University Business School, Korea National University of Education, Sangmyung University and Yonsei University.
