» International Affairs Division holds a special lecture “Building relationships and understanding of cultural differences in ASEAN countries” (1298 Views)

On February 5, 2021, at Sirikunakorn 3 Meeting Room, 2nd floor, Sirikunakorn Building, International Affairs Division, Khon Kaen University (IAD KKU), held a special lecture on “Building relationships and understanding of cultural differences in ASEAN countries” for international relations staff at Khon Kaen University by Mr. Surapon Petchvra, an honorary member of the university council and a former Thai Ambassador to Chile who specialized in diplomacy for over 30 years. The objective of the event was to exchange knowledge and build integrated national leadership competencies. Additionally, it was to prepare for building and maintaining relationships with international organizations, and  to build  understanding of the different cultures of ASEAN countries for international relations staff at Khon Kaen University in order for them to apply this knowledge to becoming more efficient in their work.

This occasion was honored by Assoc. Prof.Nawarat Wara-Aswapati Charoen, Vice President for International Affairs, who delivered an opening speech, together with Asst. Prof. Acharawan Topark-ngarm, Assistant to the President for International Affairs, and Mrs.Wilawan Ungsunantawiwat, Acting Director, International Affairs Division. Other KKU administrators, lecturers and international relations staff were also pleased to attend this lecture. This lecture  also mentioned how to build relationships and understand cultural differences in ASEAN countries from the lecturer who has experience in diplomacy for over 30 years. Moreover, there was an exchange of knowledge and work experience sharing from international relations staff who have been working with ASEAN institutes.
