On February 18, 2021, Mr. Sattha Kochaphalayuk, Vice Governor of Khon Kaen province, discussed with the Insect hub team, led by Assoc. Prof. Rangsan Niamsanit, the director of Research Institute of Strategy and Coordination for Northeastern Development (rISNED), Khon Kaen University, Prof. Dr. Yupa Hanboonsong, and many academic scholars in Khon Kaen University, Roi Et Rajabhat University, Private entrepreneurs. All agree that the knowledge of insects, especially crickets, in various fields of science has been academically researched and supported by business evidence. Therefore, joining the academic insect hub team and teaming up with academics, businessmen and farmers, has led to the creation of knowledge of insects, especially crickets. This also aimed to pursue a local profession in the community, develop the goals by looking at the current state of cricket in various dimensions, there will be problems, obstacles, gaps in how to achieve the goals.
Assoc. Prof. Rangsan Niamsanit established guidelines to drive the insect hub in the overall picture of Isan and link-in the knowledge dimensions related to various sectors in the country. Creating academic knowledge of cricket in various dimensions is the basis of the knowledge of the country for the purpose of further implementation to build an economy of origin-middle-way-destination as a circular economy in the community. Along with proposing to the President of Khon Kaen University and Vice President for Research to give support.
Mr. Sattha Kochaphalayuk added that Khon Kaen Province drives the “tie the rope against poverty” project. The people of Khonkaen acknowledge that one profession to improve the problem of poverty is to raise crickets as an additional profession. Focusing on reducing the cost of farming will enable to build the country's economy as a whole.
