On April 1, 2021, KKU administrators led by Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University, Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati Charoen, Vice President for International Affairs, Prof. Thidarut Boonmars, Vice President for Innovation and Enterprise, Asst. Prof. Denpong Soodphakdee, Vice President for Digital, Asst. Prof. Arwut Yimtae, Vice President for Infrastructure and Environment and Asst. Prof. Acharawan Topark-Ngarm, Assistant to the President for International Affairs, and Assoc. Prof. Ratchaphon Suntivarakorn, Dean of Faculty of Engineering and lectures attended an MOU Ceremony ( Memorandum of Understanding) between Khon Kaen University and Mitsubishi Company (Thailand) Ltd. at Sirikunokorn 5,6th floor, Sirikunokorn Building.   
 
The MOU signing ceremony's objective was to develop collaboration in academic research, technology and innovation between the two organizations. Especially on sustainable renewable energy, plastic recycle, and solar energy in accordance with the Green Campus Policy. Moreover, there was a discussion on transportation system development in Khon Kaen University. 

Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University, said, "Khon Kaen University and Mitsubishi Company (Thailand) Ltd. Have benefitted from cooperation both in academic research as well as in innovative collaboration such as the CSR project between Faculty of Engineering and Mitsubishi company. The objective of signing the MoU today is to support internationalization in education, research and innovation in the future, especially in Environmental- Friendly Community."
