“Khon Kaen University is very pleased to carry out works related to the development of the quality of life of persons with disabilities, as the University has already been operating on policy development, developing bodies of knowledge related to the quality of life of the disabled, developing occupations for the disabled, and developing utilities and facilities that support the living of the disabled. With the cooperation, these missions will be extended. Now, the University is under the process of policy adjustment. We plan to enroll more students with disabilities. Our personnel will brainstorm ideas for the mentioned developmental plans in all possible aspects and will carry out concrete implementation on these. We are improving the utilities and facilities as well as plans for the welfare and benefits, for instance, in the case where people have accidents and become disabled. The University has issued new regulations on the welfare that takes care of these cases. Moreover, a survey will be conducted to categorize the levels of disabilities. Formerly, we were able to locate the cases that are obvious like limb amputation, or blindness. Now, more will be included for the support and care, such as blur vision, inability to use the hand properly, etc. The survey will be conducted on students and personnel so that all levels of disabilities are known and recorded. With the information, the policy will be improved and more facilities will be provided.”
