On November 5, 2021 at Sarasin meeting room, 2nd floor, Sirikunakorn building, H.E. Mr. Rachmat Budiman, the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Thailand and a delegation from the Embassy of Indonesia in Thailand, met with the administrators of Khon Kaen University led by Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University, who delivered a welcome speech. The Indonesian delegation was also welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati Charoen, Vice President for International Affairs, and the Deans the College of Local Administration, the Faculty of Nursing, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Graduate School, Faculty of Engineering, and the representatives from Faculty of Science, Faculty of Public Health, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Dentistry, the Director of the International Affairs Division, lecturers and Indonesian students. This was his excellency’s first visit, and during the meeting, discussions were held on cooperation in education, research, student and staff exchange, and other collaborations in the future.
Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University, said “Khon Kaen University has ranked outstanding by the Time Higher Education (THE) at 200 - 300 level from 1,115 universities around the world in 7 subjects. KKU has strong cooperation with Indonesia in student and staff exchange, and has staff capacity building activities in many faculties, such as the Faculty of Nursing, the Faculty of Public Health and the College of Local Administration. Moreover, KKU has 67 Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) with Indonesian Universities, and KKU has provided KKU Scholarships to Indonesian students for many years. Therefore, today I am pleased to develop cooperation and build a close mutual relationship between our countries”.
H.E. Mr. Rachmat Budiman, the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Thailand, said “I and the delegations from the Embassy are delighted and honored to have the opportunity to visit Khon Kaen University. This is my first visit. Thank you to all the Khon Kaen University administrators and Indonesian students studying in KKU for giving a warm welcome. I sincerely hope that today’s discussions can develop cooperation in several fields in the near future”.
“Due to our close geographical proximity and similar cultures, Indonesia and Thailand have had a long friendship and a strong relationship. Over the past years, an increasing number of Indonesian students have come to Khon Kaen University to study. The students who have graduated from KKU will bring the knowledge they gained back to their country for further development. This has been a rewarding experience for all".
At 16.30 hrs. H.E. Mr. Rachmat Budiman, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Thailand, with representatives from the Embassy joined Football activity with Indonesian students to strengthen a good relationship between the Embassy and Khon Kaen University under the measures of COVID-19.
