March 21, 2024 – Khon Kaen University administrators led by Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University, Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati, Vice President for International Affairs, Asst. Prof. Acharawan Topark-Ngarm, Assistant to the President for International Affairs, and administrators and representatives from the College of Local Administration. The Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Medicine attended the Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony between Khon Kaen University and Kumamoto University, Japan led by Prof. Hisao Ogawa, President of Kumamoto University, Japan. The ceremony occurred at Sarasin Meeting Room 2, 2nd Floor, Sirikunakorn Building, Khon Kaen University.
Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University, said, "Khon Kaen University is pleased to develop academic collaboration with the Kumamoto University, Japan, especially in health science, medicine, student exchange, course exchange, training, and research."
Prof. Hisao Ogawa, President of Kumamoto University, Japan, said, "On behalf of Kumamoto University, Japan, I am pleased to meet with the administrators of KKU and sign the MOU today. Kumamoto University is committed to academic, technology, and medical development goals. The MOU signing today means our strong academic collaboration. I am grateful to all the faculty and organizations contributing to this collaboration."
In addition, there was an assignment and celebration ceremony to facilitate the exchange of visiting professors from KKU to teach and conduct research at Kumamoto University, Japan.
The MOU signing aimed at developing academic and research collaboration, student exchange, and training. Under the signing: 1. Agreement on Academic Exchange and 2. Agreement on Student Exchange between Kumamoto University and Khon Kaen University.
