On February 15, 2021, Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University presided over an opening ceremony on the topic of “ Early Detection of Unsafe Food by Risk-Based Programme”, held by the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Khon Kaen University. This was supported by Mekong – Lancang Cooperation (MLC) Special Fund which is a collaboration between the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Kingdom of Thailand, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation ( MHESI - Thailand) and Khon Kaen University. The event was honored by Assoc. Prof. Dr.Paiboon Daosodsai, Dean of Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Khon Kaen University who delivered a report speech.
The training on Early Detection of Unsafe Food by Risk-Based Programme was held during February 15-25, 2021. There were 35 participants from Laos, Myanmar, China and Thai with various professions (not necessarily be public health practitioners) attending. The objectives of the training were to enhance knowledge and understanding that will lead to the surveillance broadcast of unsafe food in the participants' country communities by expertised speakers from Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Khon Kaen University and Regional Medical Sciences Center 7 Khon Kaen. Moreover, the details consist of the source of contaminants and health hazard using test kit for primary scanning the unsafe food. The principles of planning and sampling of food that is unsafe for the community, The report and communication results for the relevant groups.
The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Khon Kaen University has continually cooperated with countries in the Mekong basin. Mekong – Lancang Cooperation (MLC) Special Fund is one of projects that supports the knowledge transformation among member countries and can lead to more efficient work on food safety.
